Chana magaj – Looks and tastes superb


500 g/3 cups chana flour ( Besan )
1/4 Cup Milk
1/4 Cup Ghee

In a dish mix these 3 ingredients till it resembles breadcrumbs. Allow to dry for 10 minutes.

2 cups ghee
2 Cups icing sugar
1 cup Klim Milk powder( I used Nido)
1/2 Cup coarse almonds


Heat Ghee in a pot and add the Besan mixture and braise till its a golden brown colour. This step is the most important.

Keep mixing and stirring till its brown in colour and gets thick. It takes approximately an hour on slow flame.

Add almonds and elaichi powder and mix well.
Remove from heat and add icing sugar and Milk powder.

Mix together until it combines well. Allow to set in a tray, sprinkle sliced  almonds.

Let it set in the fridge for a few hours then cut in diamond shapes or squares or scoop out into balls and sprinkle almonds.
